Hello Festers
...
Good news to pass on to ALL. A site has been selected for the 33rd Annual DecemberFest (December 8-10, 2006)
... however ... before you jump to the link, Please allow us a few lines to offer
a proper introduction to the site and to provide some information you won't find on their page.
The name of the place is "Hidden River Resort". It is a beautiful site that is located on the St.
Mary's River just west of Jacksonville. Once you see their website you will notice that it is a
"clothing optional" resort. This in no way means or implies that DecemberFest has become a
"clothing optional" gathering.
Fest has secured "exclusive" rights to the site for our visit and we plan to conduct the
Fest in the same manner as we have for the past 32 years. With the knowledge that many folks have
started doing "early" visits to a site once announced ... which is usually great for the site
selected ... we just want to make sure that those that choose to make the trip understand that the "Fest
Exclusive Rights" do not start until the Fest weekend ... so some consideration should be taken
prior to making an early visit if you and/or your family are not "naturists".
Just for the record ... there are NO CABINS ... and there is NO EARLY REGISTRATION
for the limited amount of electric sites (generators will be allowed). Keeping that in mind, PLEASE
don't waste our hosts time ... or your dime ... trying to book early. In the last two years the sites we have
announced were swamped with folks calling (all times of day & night) asking questions which
we could easily have answered or were already answered on our website. With that being our
biggest complaint from past site owners help us to NOT let that happen again this year.
There is also a list of rules on the campground's website ... some will apply to Fest ... some will not ...
and some will be added due to the size of our group and our exclusive rights for that weekend. One important
rule is that NO PETS are allowed. Sorry folks ... but that's the deal. If you have pets start looking for
sitters now. There is also a rule about NO GLASS. They are willing to let us to "bend" this rule a
tad by allowing it at personal sites ... but make sure to bring cups for walking around the grounds.
Camping
fees will be $10 per person per night ($15 extra per night if at an electric site). Once again ... there are NO
early reservations for these areas so please don’t bother our host by calling to request one.
Much more info will be posted here soon ... so stay tuned for updates. With all that said ... here's a link
to the site if you care to see what the place looks like. Hidden River Resort or http://hiddenriverresort.com/
