33rd Annual DecemberFest (December 08-10, 2006)

The normal gate hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) will be altered during DecemberFest. New times will be posted as soon as we get a “gate committee” in place (any volunteers?). Folks arriving after the gate has closed are expected to return to the gate the next morning to sign-in.

NO CREDIT CARDS OR CHECKS! CASH ONLY! You have been informed ... so Please come prepared.

ALL GUESTS will sign in at the office upon arrival and pay the appropriate camping fees. $10.00 per person per night (kids under 12 are free). There is an additional charge of $15.00 per night for electrical sites. There is NO early registration for sites.

WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE POLICY!

CHILDREN are always welcome.  Guests are responsible for their children's safety and behavior, and will be solely accountable for any misconduct, rule violations or damages.  Minors are not allowed at the river (or pool) without a supervising adult. No children in diapers allowed in the pool, and children's pool hours will be posted.

NO PETS. I know the rules on the camp website say pets are welcome ... however, if you look at the “events” page on the same website you will see they allow NO Pets during large events.

ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, DRINK OR SMOKING in the swimming pool.  No Food permitted on the pool apron (ants), and no glass containers of any kind, under any circumstances. Swimsuits/shorts only in the pool ... heavy fabrics can cause filter clogs.

OUTDOOR SHOWERS are located on the backside of the bathhouse  - Please remove any suntan oil or lotions before entering pool.

NO GLASS CONTAINERS in the facility!! This is a barefoot park in non-Fest times and we really don't want to leave broken glass on the grounds.

DO NOT DRIVE OR PARK ON THE GRASS!!   Please stay on the roadways. Parking will be allowed in some grass areas for our event ... however ... respecting the beauty of this site is a must and those areas will be limited. Our host has graciously allowed us to have golf carts on the site. Those that use them MUST remember to use the roads!

GARBAGE AND TRASH is to be brought to the dumpster. Please do not litter the grounds with any trash or cigarette butts.  They will provide a coffee can for any used grease - don't dig a hole and bury it.  The owner’s dogs will find it and eat it, sand and all. Be certain there is a trash bag in the trashcan (s) before using them. Hidden River offers miles and miles of pristine wilderness trails, your help is required to keep the woods in their near virgin condition. Remember our motto ... “Leave it Cleaner Than You Found It!” Added note: We will be in charge of the restroom (cleaning, restocking paper, etc.) PLEASE VOLUNTEER in this area!

CAMPFIRES are permitted in specific areas only, and in approved fire rings distributed by the management. Please do not move the fire rings or cut any living trees.  There is plenty of deadfall available. At times total fire bans are issued and visitors will be informed.  Make certain the fire is totally within the ring and extinguished all embers before leaving. We have made a few arrangements with the owner concerning this rule. We are counting on folks to abide by our agreement ... and work together to have one “main” fire area where several tents are located.

ALL ANIMALS you encounter in the woods should be considered wild and dangerous.  Do not attempt to approach, pet or feed them.  Keep foodstuffs in sealed containers - ants love picnics!  Keep your trash out of reach of prowling critters until it is brought to the dumpster.

You may encounter poisonous plants, reptiles in your strolls - this is the wild.  If you are allergic to bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, etc., bring a suitable remedy. You may also encounter fallen trees, holes in the ground, and gopher burrows.  Please watch where you walk.

LEST YOU THINK nature is ONLY a bunch of dangers, we should mention the deer, 'possums, raccoons, gophers, birds, talking trees, flowers.................enjoy!
